Noah's Ark Zoo Farm

Please visit NAZF’s own website for your self – compare the ‘creationist research’ tab to the ‘education’ tab.

We at Sink the Ark have been to NAZF and can confirm that the creationist message on the website is a dilute version compared to what is actually on display at the zoo. Please see out pictures.

Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm (NAZF) is a petting zoo just outside Bristol. NAZF has a strong educational message and market themselves heavily to schools, purporting to support the national curriculum. This belies the fact that NAZF is an ardently creationist establishment. The literature on display presents falsified science as fact, debunking established science on evolution, radio carbon dating, the fossil record, even the speed of light. Many of the posters displayed directly contradict science on the national curriculum and as such this zoo is actively harming the education of children.

Please see the selection of media links (don’t take our word for it), quotes from the proprietor, flyers from the zoo and a selection of photographs taken this year at NAZF.

Sink the Ark’s aim is to compel NAZF to be open their creationist agenda, stop marketing to schools and stop purporting to supporting the national curriculum. Please note, it is not to close the zoo – the founders of Sink the Ark are firm believers in free speech. However, the way that NAZF withholds their creations message until they have people through the gate is deceitful and wrong. Sink the Ark intends to achieve its aims through:

  1. Direct appeal to NAZF: You are invited to send your own email to the zoo. Click here.
  2. Writing to government and other official bodies to have them withdraw their support:
    • VisitBritain is the government sponsored national tourist agency who is ‘responsible for marketing Britain worldwide’. Please sign the petition on the number 10 website. Or contact VisitBritain here.
    • BIAZA (British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquaria) of which NAZF is a member. NAZF is clearly in breach of their educational guidelines. Please register your concerns with BIAZA by clicking here.
    • The zoo forum at DEFRA which set out the legal framework under which a zoo must operate. NAZF is in breach of the rules concerning education. Contact the zoo forum here.
    • North Somerset Council are responsible for inspecting the zoo to insure they meet the DEFRA’s rules. They can be contacted here.
    • Local Education Authorities in the Bristol area to petition them to prevent local state schools visiting NAZF. No email addresses are in the public domain.
    • Write to your Member of Parliament.

Thank you for taking the time to support Sink the Ark. Free speech is a very precious thing, we hope you use yours to write to one or all of the above. If you do please BCC Sink the Ark in (letters@sinktheark.co.uk), we will not print your contact details, but may put the content up on this site.
